Dr. Wierschem is a magna cum laude graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, and completed internship and residency in Urological Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, GA. He did specialty training at the renowned Cornell Institute for Reproductive Medicine Center for Male Reproductive Medicine and Microsurgery, in New York City.
Dr. Wierschem is currently Chief of Urology at Baylor Medical Center of Plano. He serves as Medical Director at Faith Surgery Center. He was Board of Directors Chairman of NorthPoint Cancer Center and on the Board of Directors at Landmark Radiation Center. His academic memberships include the American Urological Association, Sexual Medicine Society of North America, International Society for Sexual Medicine, American Society of Reproductive Medicine, Society of Reproductive Surgeons, International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health and the National Association of Continence.
He has authored numerous scientific articles and presented before many medical conferences including the World Congress of Endourology.
His special interests are men’s health, prostate disease, kidney stone treatment, vasectomy and microscopic surgery including varicoceles and vasectomy reversal.
